Derek and Kirsten are a husband and wife team who. with our adorable daughter, started up Paisley in 2016. We are situated in Angaston, in the Eden Valley region, on a stunning vineyard with views from every vantage point.
Our vineyard has 12 acres of premium Shiraz and in Spring 2019 we planted 1 acre of Fiano and 2.5 acres of Mataro. We will get fruit from these vines in 2022 and beyond.
We have a small handful of chooks, three cats and some sheep that help us keep the grass in the vineyard down in the Winter months.
Our wine production started with the three red grape varieties Derek believes the Barossa does best – Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro. Our range now includes an Adelaide Hills Fiano and in 2020 will feature an Eden Valley Riesling. The wines are all about elegance and finesse, with bright fruit and textural influences. The aim is to let the attributes of the vineyard and the fruit shine by using minimal intervention in the winery.
Our company is named after the town of Paisley, just outside Glasgow in Scotland, which is where Kirsten’s great, great grandfather hailed from before settling in Adelaide in 1839.
